Founded in 1916, Gray Supply Corporation is a century-old utility construction and equipment rental specialist based in New Jersey, operating three locations across the state. What began as a road and bridge contractor under Rudolph Rufus Herms has since expanded to gas and water line installation, fiber optic infrastructure, and a full-service Construction Equipment Division (CED) offering equipment sales and rentals since 1994. The Challenge

Gray Supply relied on an aging Microsoft Access–based “Work Management” system to handle NJNG-related job scheduling, field assignments, and regulatory reporting. However, this legacy tool had become:

• Slow and unstable with large datasets
• Restricted to desktop use, lacking browser or mobile access
• Inflexible to evolving NJNG file formats and data requirements
• Difficult to maintain, risking outage and inefficiency

These constraints compromised field productivity, compliance accuracy, and the ability to scale operations.

The Solution
